Apparently nothing is safe from the coupons these days – even the low volume, but super-svelte ThinkPad X200s. While not terribly different visually, the ’s’ model of the X Series has always been thinner, lighter, and with longer battery life thanks to low voltage processors. Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X200s takes that a bit further, with an available WXGA+ (1440×900) LCD. The 15% coupon brings the base price down to $1,078.65 for this ultramobile black rectangle. 14-inch Lenovo Value Line G450 Laptop in Grey (2949CGU) with
Lenovo Multimedia Remote with keyboard (57Y6336) on sale for $59.99 -
2.4 lbs, 1440×900 screen, incredible battery life, and a pending price war.
Now we’re talkin!
But mine came out at $1103.30 (base model, vista home basic, 802.11g).
What am i doing wrong?
I ordered one from their outlet – supposedly all boxed and ready to go. The ship date was a week out, and now they just extended the expect ship date by another week. WTF?!?!?
This offer would be great if they would actually send the darned things… and my card has already been charged.
IBM never charged the CC until the merchandise was ready to ship..
not sure how lenovo does things but my guess is they do that the same..
thinking back a few years, new thinkpads were usually in the $2200 to $4800 price range..
my how prices have come down..
While this is a fantastic deal, everyone take note that you cannot get it with the 4-cell battery, so the weight (with 6 cell) will be 3 pounds even, not 2.5. Sneaky Lenovo. They took away the Ultralight screen on the X61s, and now this!
I know most of my peers shrug at the difference between 3 pounds and 2.5, or 6 pounds and 2.5, but if you’ve lugged hardware around since the days of the “Compaq Portable”, every ounce hurts.
