Our friends over at NotebookReview got their hands on one of Lenovo’s red headed step-children: the G530 “value line notebook.” (Quote is Lenovo’s, not mine) If you pay close attention to the photos, you may notice this has a strong resemblance to the now defunct “Lenovo 3000″ series.
Surprisingly, they were rather happy with it. There is absolutely nothing remarkable about the machine, except the price tag. Reviewer Kevin O’Brien seemed happy with the quality, performance, and features for the price. What more can you ask? Hit the link for the full review.
By the way, if you were interested in learning more about the machine from Lenovo, you’re out of luck. The “Lenovo value line notebook” page only has links to let you buy one. Good job Lenovo.

My officemate had a Lenovo 3000 V100. I tried it and liked it a lot and I almost bought one, but then the T61 price came down enough that I bought that instead.
