In a recent “trade visit,” Lenovo declared that it will be purchasing around 2.7 billion dollars worth of electronics products from the estranged island of Taiwan.
The large purchasing sum is a bit of a surprise considering it is more than twice what other members of the trade delegation are planning to spend, and almost three times what Lenovo spent over the last two such visits. The sale of mostly notebooks, LCD’s, and motherboards should provide a nice boost to the Taiwanese economy as well.
The entire trade visit is part of efforts to improve trade relations between mainland China and the island nation.
