Lenovo design maven David Hill has put up a blog post about the new ThinkPad USB TrackPoint keyboard, with all kinds of neat tidbits.
A couple readers spoke out in my previous post, wondering where the dedicated number pad went. According to Mr. Hill, most people indicated they didn’t need a dedicated number pad. Not only does it effect portability, it adds cost. As does a touchpad, something else most ThinkPad enthusiasts despise. Great, even smaller dimensions and price tag.
One thing that you can’t quite tell from the pictures I shared previously is that this new keyboard is sealed like actual ThinkPad keyboards and has two drain holes – awesome. Check my previous posts for other info on this keyboard, like which systems the function keys are compatible with, head over to Lenovo.com and buy one, or of course check out David’s post linked below.

If they could make it more modular, and design a way to remove part of the palmrest, the part that’s below they trackpoint buttons, that would be great. I’m buying it, either way
What Jose said. Make the palmrest removable. But I’ll buy one anyway.
