Bad knockoff or next-generation ThinkPad? I’m leaning towards the former.
Of course, it could always be a design concept that escaped the lab. You know, the lab of “no f-ing way will we ever build this.” Who’s with me?

White thinkpad?? It would be very interesting!!
I’d buy this for my girlfriend for sure!
Looking at the X60 keyboard, it almost seems like it could be a 10″ screen/netbook.
It looks odd with the trackpad, and the keyboard looks strange. Notice that the arrow keys are flush with the bottom of the keyboard, with no grooves under the bottom three keys.
A 10″ (or smaller) Thinkpad-like netbook would be nice.
A 10.4″ 4:3 XGA subnotebook. The 240Z lives?
If only they would produce it without the touchpad – the keyboard could be 20% taller and maybe, just maybe, typeable.
I feel designers in Lenovo have a hidden desire toward Sony Vaio, they started with introducing Lenovo Netbook, with their complete off-IBM design. Now it is time to thinkpads. Be sure, you will lost your market. If I wanna Sony-like laptop, be sure I will get Sony, not Lenovo. IBM was business machine. Lenovo supposed to follow their legacy if they want to survive in other case no one really have interest to get a china made Japan Design machine.
Normally, the first run prototypes are not in the same plastic as the final models and they dont really care too much about the colour (i’ve seen gray and clear ones before) but the thinkpad indent isn’t to proper scale, it looks like a thinkpad logo from a T series stuck on an X series which makes me think its a hobby project
If Lenovo think it would be ok to release a white glossy ‘ThinkPad’ then they will lose even more of my faith than they did with the SLs
There is no way on earth I would part with a single coin for one of those. It looks like it’d fall apart if you so much as breathed on it. Euthanise it.
That looks like what I would buy for my 2 year old son. If you want a look like that then buy a MAC notebook. I think they shouldn’t mess with the design of Thinkpads.Thinkpads has a great design and should stay like that.
Don’t worry. Thinkpads are and will be black. It’s the main gene of business Thinkpads.
However, I have also seen pre-production Thinkpads in silver-grey plastic material. These are just prototypes for testing until the high-volume molds for plastik injection production are manufactured (molds are extremely expensive, so you want to do it right).
For the final plastic some type of charcoal is usually used and that black plastic is not so cheap.
