You’ve seen the rumors over the past week, some fuzzy pictures were posted and then clearer pictures that appeared to be a ThinkPad X200e with some very un-ThinkPad-like attributes. Now more rumors are swirling and the implications are big.
This leaked ThinkPad is supposedly the first ThinkPad netbook, to be dubbed the X100e, and will officially announce on January 5, 2010. You can read more supposition at the original source of this rumor, but the only solid facts you have are above.
January 5 shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, as most companies make big announcements at CES every January, Lenovo being no exception. Something tells me we wouldn’t be seeing the several shots of this alleged prototype if it weren’t really in the pipeline. Unfortunately I’m also getting the feeling we won’t actually be seeing the Lenovo Tegra/Chrome OS smartbook this year (or by CES).
