Looks like the X301 deal has been used up – T400s still good
For the time being you can get a closeout Lenovo ThinkPad T400s for $774 or a ThinkPad X301 for $799 through the Microsoft Store.
This deal first appeared a couple weeks ago with a 40% off coupon and just a couple days ago bumped up to 50% off. Unfortunately the 50% off coupons quickly expired on both models, but they have just risen from the dead.

I get “Code is not applicable” (on T400s)
Wow, that is an absolutely RIDICULOUS price!
Tried to use it and received “invalid” message. I talked to a rep at Microsoft and they said the T400s had been out of stock since Monday. I have no idea why they’re selling these so cheap when they can’t keep them in stock.
“Code is not applicable” that’s it.

For anyone who’s interested in the X200; you can get it for an awesome 830$ on Amazon. Its being sold by beach audio. The specs are Core 2 Duo 2.53Ghz + 2Gigs of RAM + Windows XP Pro.
The prices went up by a 100$ as soon as I placed my order. I bought mine for $733.
They’ve got 3 left when I checked it 2 minutes ago.

Looks dead-as-a-doornail dead now. Prices back up to $1500+, no reduction when adding to cart, coupon invalid, no “there was a special price, but…” advisory.
