You’ve been waiting for the better part of a month and your time has come: Lenovo’s slick ThinkPad T410s is available for purchase on their website once again.
The lead-time isn’t exactly speedy at 16 days, which goes up to 4+ weeks if you want the $110 Intel 80GB SSD upgrade (which I highly recommend). Prices start at $1389 for the base model with Win7 Pro 32, 2GB RAM and 250GB 5400rpm HDD.
Unless I’m missing something, you want to skip the “Enhanced” configuration altogether. It adds the Intel 80GB SSD and Intel 6200 WiFi for $200 over the base config, yet those two items would only cost $130 added to the base config. Either Lenovo’s web team let the monkey at the keyboard again, or they are trying to fleece some extra margin.
For those ready to make the plunge, Lenovo does have a 5% coupon on the T410s that brings the entry price down to $1,319. As always, check out the deal details below and leave questions in the Comments!

Still no switchable graphics, though, boo.
And I’m not sure I’d recommend the 80G intel drive here. Unless they say it’s the G2, I’m suspcisious. The G1 doesn’t support TRIM.
If you go to the ‘T Series’, click on ‘Compare’ (horizontal bar middle of the screen), there are various features for the various models. The is a check mark on the T410s at Switchable graphics. It says:
Switchable graphics
Get improved battery life and lower energy consumption than discrete graphics systems with switchable graphics (on select models). And don’t worry; switchable graphics are easy to use. You can hot-key between Performance or Power Saving graphics modes, or switch via the software user interface. No reboot is required to switch modes, and one unified driver covers both discrete and integrated graphics.
It seems that Lenovo could have put the Switchable graphics feature in the overall description of the T410s; it was in the press release.
You sure pay a lot to drop 1.1lbs off the weight. Consider that you can get the T410 with the big battery and ANOTHER big battery, 20 hours of runtime, for less than the T410s with the little battery.
But, of course, if you want the T410s you don’t want all those batteries weighing you down
If you use the coupon code ‘USP0211T410S’ you get 15% off instead off.. Cheers!
I hope I can decide if I’m going to go with this or not b
These launch models seem to be missing the switchable graphics, as well as the higher model i5 processor.. Also a 4GB RAM limit?! That’s a joke!
Please sort this out so I can buy one Lenovo!

Can you tel me what size drive the T410(x) use? I seem to remember reading that it is a 1.8mm, but I can’t seem to find anywhere or anyone to confirm that?
Thanks
Doug – the T410 uses 2.5-inch drives, while the T410s uses 1.8-inch drives.
John,
Is that to mean that T410s’ only use SSD ? I know that my T400 uses regular SATA drives. I am contemplating upgrading to a T410’s but want to stay with 2.5mm SATA drives. It seems on the Lenovo configuration page that you can get a T410s with a 250GB SATA drive, however I am still trying to figure out if they are 2.5 drives or 1.8. NewEgg.com doesn’t seem to list any 1.8 SATA drives.
Thanks for the help
The T410s uses both regular HDDs and SSDs, and they are both 1.8-inch. The Intel X18 is a 1.8-inch SSD that is available. You can check prices here; note that the X18 listed on the left is the 1st generation, the one on the right is the 2nd generation.
