Lenovo’s ever-predictable announcement process is about to begin again with updated ThinkPads, if reports on the company’s social network accounts are to be believed.
In fact, there is a YouTube video out and numerous articles on how the unannounced ThinkPad T420 is the first laptop to receive a UL Environment Gold Rating. We’re all excited for the T420 and all, but it does seem a bit odd to proclaim a special award for a product that isn’t officially announced.
Logic be damned, we do expect to hear official word on the refreshed ThinkPads. In the meantime, you can avail yourself of a few brief glimpses of the T420 in Lenovo’s video on the UL certification.

LCD easy to remove? Bout time!! Not for nothing, my T61p LCD is a bitch to remove!!
we really feel the guy believes in what he is saying at the end rofl
I making it from recyclable, environmentally friendly materials means weak construction, flimsiness, and/or a wafer-like feel then their “green” initiative will never see my green.
Any ideas on when are these models coming to the market?
I’m reading about the new t420s at the cnet site this morning, and nothing here at thinkpads?!
Anyway, I’m new here and been wanting a t410s but its too much for my budget; do you think the appearance of t420s will mean a lower price for the t410s? btw, love this site, thank you!
What I wonder is why these new machines won’t finally have USB-3. Desktop motherboards for Sandy Bridge seem to be having it by default, almost – I wonder why not Lenovo’s laptops.
Man oh man, that girl with the goggles taking apart the ThinkPad was HOT! Damn!
I wish Lenovo would tell us when these things are going to be released. I’m growing tired of the rumors.
