This user loaded the release version of WinME on a new HDD I sent to him, for this pourpose.

This is probably more info than you may want, but I thought I would report
my experience with loading Windows Me on my A20P.

I received the 12 gig HDD and 2nd HDD adapter from you as promised. I then
reimaged the new drive with my A20P Bootable CD and then did a clean install
of Win Me over W98SE before loading anything else. I then went through the
laborious task of installing all my software and backed-up data file.

The A20P and all of my old software worked just great using Me. The new OS
looks only little changed. There are some really nice new Trackpoint
features offered in the ThinkPad Configuration utility, like Snap To and One
Click drag and drop. These are very useful and worthwhile. All my devices
worked and all the drivers seem to function as well or better than on W98SE.
I think when the new OS is finally released I will upgrade to it on both
drives. The only real negative is the new Windows Explorer. It is
cumbersome and confusing to use, and I think that this new interface is an
imagined step forward by Microsoft, but a real step back in fact. I use On
Track International's PowerDesk as my file manager, and think it is the best
one available.

As always, thanks for your help on all of this, and thanks for finding the
CD RW and 2nd HDD and 2nd HDD adapter for me. I'll keep you posted on my
experience with this setup as I continue to use it.
