Deal of the day: 15% off most Lenovo IdeaCentre desktops

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

If you’ve had an interest in any of Lenovo’s consumer desktops, like the tiny Q150 nettop or gorgeous A700 all-in-one, this is a great opportunity to buy. For a limited time, Lenovo is taking 15% off most of their IdeaCentre desktops. While Lenovo has taken 15-20% off their IdeaCentre’s before, it isn’t very frequent and never this many at once!

Probably the most interesting one to me is the IdeaCentre Q150 nettop with NVIDIA Ion graphics. While it’s a desktop version of a netbook, this is a seriously compact piece of hardware that would fit well among your home theater equipment. With the relatively powerful NVIDIA Ion graphics and recent hardware acceleration update for Adobe Flash, this is actually a perfect little box to play streaming video on your HDTV with the HDMI output. With a $100 instant discount and 15% off coupon, the entry price comes down to only $296!

Retailers clearing out Lenovo IdeaCentre D400 home server, $232 off

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Just a couple days ago we brought you news that Lenovo was likely discontinuing their lone home server product, the IdeaCentre D400. Now some retailers are dropping more than $200 off the price of a D400 compared to Lenovo’s website.

For the time being, you can pick up a D400 server with 2TB storage for only $337 from Amazon. This is $232 cheaper than Lenovo, has free shipping and most shoppers won’t get charged sales tax.

You can pick up the D400 model 3013-1DU from Amazon.

Now shipping: Lenovo IdeaCentre A700, 15% off too

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Announced back in May with the whole slew of other Idea products, the 23-inch all-in-one IdeaCentre A700 is now shipping from Lenovo’s U.S. website. For those in the market, one of Lenovo’s 15% coupons also happens to apply to the A700.

Lenovo has three models listed for sale, each with an appropriate step up in specification. For once, Lenovo’s pre-configured model specifications make sense! I also really like that the A700 has a ton of standard features: Win7 Home 64-bit, minimum 4GB RAM, Full HD multitouch display, integrated TV tuner, Bluetooth mouse & keyboard, WiFi and a plethora of ports & connections. Check out the table below for a breakdown of the differences between the three models.

Exclusive one day deal: Lenovo IdeaCentre K320 desktop, $499 after $350 instant savings

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Today’s deal of the day may not be the usual laptop, but it is a killer deal on a well loaded Intel-based desktop. This model of Lenovo’s IdeaCentre K320 may not be the gaming machine that the higher end models are, but it’s still an extremely solid machine for under $500.

An Intel Core i3-530 processor powers this K320 at a speedy 2.93GHz, while the 4GB RAM and 500GB 7200rpm HDD round out a very solid system. It’s Intel integrated graphics won’t help you much in the gaming department, but it can still handle all the usual web browsing, office productivity and even photo editing.

This deal expires TONIGHT, at midnight EST on July 21st!

  • Intel Core i3-350 (2.93GHz); Win7 Home 64; Intel GMA 4500
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM; 500GB 7200rm HDD; DVD burner

Deal of the weekend: Lenovo IdeaCentre K320 Core i5 desktop

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Today’s deal of the weekend is super hot, even if it isn’t a laptop. One of Lenovo’s few gaming-centric PCs, the K320 desktop is on sale and well loaded for only $599.

Powered by your choice of Intel processors, the IdeaCentre K320 is a full tower desktop designed to appeal to the gaming market. While there’s not much “gaming” to it besides the NVIDIA discrete graphics, it is a pretty slick looking box with plenty of options and expandability for most.

The model featured today has a Core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce 310 512MB graphics. You’ll also find the usual plethora of ports and expansion options. For the truly discerning buyer, there is even a “Turbo / Auto / Cool” switch on the front to help control your system’s performance, and therefore heat output.

This deal expires July 6th.

  • Intel Core i5-750 (2.66-3.2GHz quad core); Win7 Home 64; NVIDIA GeForce 310 512MB graphics
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM; 640GB 7200rpm HDD; DVD burner; 1 year warranty

Deal of the day: 20% off Lenovo C315 all-in-one touchscreen, starting $559

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Today’s deal of the day is not the usual laptop, but a rather slick, low-end all-in-one desktop. Not only is it all-in-one, but you get a nifty 20-inch touchscreen to boot for $559.

Lenovo announced the budget-focused C315 back in February, turning out to be one of the first of many AMD-powered products to come out of Lenovo’s labs. It’s powered by a low end AMD Athlon II X2 250U processor and the display is only 1600×900, but these are relatively small sacrifices for a touchscreen all-in-one under $600.

For $120 more, you can upgrade the RAM from 2 to 4GB and the hard drive from 320GB to 500GB (both 7200rpm). This deal expires July 6th, or after 150 units have been sold.

Apple-esque Lenovo IdeaCentre A300 all-in-one now shipping, on sale

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Lenovo’s slick new IdeaCentre A300 all-in-one PC, announved back in January at CES 2010, is now available for purchase at Lenovo.com. To help kick off the sales, Lenovo also has a 15% stackable coupon on top of $100 instant savings.

While the A300 is a bit behind on technology, using lower binned last generation Intel chips rather than the new 2010 Core models, the features and design are all there. Every model has Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, a 21.5-inch 1080p display, a spacious hard drive, WiFi, HDMI input/output, and Bluetooth keyboard & mouse.

The lower end model (40181MU) has the Pentium T4400 2.2GHz dual-core chip, 2GB RAM and 320GB hard drive for $799 ($679 after coupon). Upgrading to the 40181OU gets you the Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive and TV tuner for $949 ($806 after coupon). If you don’t need the TV tuner, don’t let the processor difference scare you: they’re the same chips, the Pentium just has 1MB L2 cache instead of 2MB.

Both models are listed as shipping within 18 days business days and can be purchased immediately. Details on how to get the discount are below. See more pictures & details on the A300 in this post.

Lenovo President’s Day Sale: 5-20% off ThinkPads, 15% off IdeaPads & IdeaCentre A600

Monday, February 15th, 2010
lenovo_ideapad_s10-3t_netbook_tablet_front-open

Lenovo is running a rather nice coupon that will give you some sizable discounts on nearly every one of their products, new and old!

The regular ThinkPad X200 has a very nice 20% off coupon, the only one with that discount in the ThinkPad family, bringing the starting price to under $800. Unfortunately the new Edge and X100e models only get a 5% coupon, while all other ThinkPads are treated to 10% off.

On the IdeaPad side, all of the Y, U and G (value line) series get a nice 15% off. This includes the slick new IdeaPad S10-3 netbooks, notably the S10-3t convertible tablet. This neat little multitouch netbook is discounted to $466! That’s a heckuva price for a perfectly competent multitouch tablet, even if it’s a bit down on horsepower with the Atom platform.

Check out some of the specifics on the deal below, but don’t wait too long. This deal expires on February 17th!

Blowout deal: 20% off Lenovo ThinkStation D10, $759 starting

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

lenovo_thinkstation_d10

I know we usually cover the best Lenovo laptop deals, with the occasional desktop, but this one was too good to pass up. If you haven’t heard about Lenovo’s ThinkStation line, you’re missing out.

Take all the engineering know-how of Lenovo’s Think engineers and the best of the best in processor, storage and graphics technologies: what you get is a beast of a workstation with the design you’ve come to expect in a Think product, the eminent focus on usability and more performance options than you could ever need.

There are two versions of the ThinkStations, the S and D series, with S referring to single socket (aka processor sockets) and, you guessed it, D for dual socket. The models on sale are the previous generation ThinkStation D10; while not offering the latest Intel processors, they still have plenty of horsepower, Lenovo’s top notch design and most important, a $759 starting price.

The base model starts at $949, which means you can pick up one of these boxes for $759 before tax, including a rather nice 3-year on-site warranty. Linux lovers will appreciate the no operating system option on these boxes, allowing you to run whatever operating system you want without paying for something you don’t want. A note on operating systems: the model that comes with Vista Business is $110 more than the one without, but you would still be eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 7 (you pay shipping costs).

You can read more about the original ThinkStation design at Lenovo’s Design Matters blog or browse Lenovo’s information about the ThinkStation for more details. Check out the base specs and how to get the deal below. More images at Flickr.

  • Intel Xeon E5205 1.86GHz | DOS operating system | Intel 5400a motherboard

  • 250GB SATA 7200rpm HDD | Dual Gigabit Ethernet | 3 year on-site warranty
