Tidbits

Welcome to the first post of a regular series which will collect interesting tidbits from the web that maybe didn’t need a whole post, but are still pretty cool. Enjoy

  • Darth Vader LED flashlight
This has got to be the most functional and cool geek accessory I’ve seen in a while. When someone in your office starts ridiculing you, just shine it in their eyes and let them know they can follow you when the Sith returns to rule the Earth, because you’ll be able to see where you’re going.
  • Australian Police go wardriving
Brought to you by the country that has “anti-Hoonage” laws and is building its own advanced high-speed network infrastructure – way to go Aussie’s.
  • Mobile Flash coming to phones, with multi-touch & accelerometer (aka iPhone) support
I just hope it isn’t as much of a resource hog as it is on PC. I don’t see this going well.
  • Split Stick dual USB flash drive
As someone who runs between multiple machines with multiple types of data (personal, work, other work, more work), and the fact that I’m an organizational freak, this is pretty neat. Of course, you could just get a bottom-barrel flash drive and have multiple…folders.
  • Verizon CEO targeted by prankster/information security activist
“Can you hear me now?” Sorry, I had to do it. Someone upset about the state of information security tracked down Verizon’s CEO via publicly available information and showed up at his house with a loudspeaker. There’s a video at the other end of the link of the hilarity.
