Re: T420 won't power on, stuck on blinking green light (solved)
I had a very similar issue after a recent tear-down and rebuild. My solution was to connect the track pad connector I neglected to reconnect when re-attaching the palm-rest. Hope this helps someone out there who may have the same problem.

Re: I Love my T420
With dozens / hundreds of models that differ in almost every other component - surely there is room for a few select models for this "elite minority" of keyboard-centric users. There is of course the fear that these models won't sell well, but it seems unfounded: because right now no manufacturer o...

I Love my T420
Celebrating my 9 year anniversary with this trusty old T420! It is arguably the best computer I have ever owned. I bought it new in 2012 and have been using it regularly since. I got an X1 Carbon a few years ago thinking I would prefer it, but went right back to the T420. I much prefer this keyboard...

In the Market for a X1C
I am considering a used X1 to replace my trusty X201. I have finally let go of the need for a legacy style keyboard in favor of more portability and hopefully better battery life. I am considering a gen3 or gen4 machine and mostly concerned with battery life. I would like to get 4 hours average use ...

Oh you tease me!!!
I have been thinking about fitting an x201 board in a T4x chassis, but of course this is next to impossible.

This is my old travel machine. I bought it in 2008 used, but it was in mint condition then. I have not used it much so it is still in excellent shape. The case, covers, lid etc. are all in great condition for its age. The only flaws I would note are some small scratches on the top lid and the bottom...

Re: Games playable on x200s
Super old topic I know, but I am curious how you get around the requirement for a CD or DVD to be in the drive? Do you use a patch to play without a disc or did none of these games require it? I might load a few older games on my x201i, but not sure how I will deal with the DRM issue of needing the ...

I am looking for a power adapter to convert the power cord to right angle into my x201. This one seems kind of pricy but is the only one I could find. Has anyone tried one or something similar?

Re: Chicket Keys--Let the debate begin!
I think it is premature to say whether the T430 will have chicklets, but I think unlikely given the history of the Thinkpad keyboard. If you look at the 6th picture in the following link, what looks like the T430 shows a similar keyboard to the current one... http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/15/302135...

Re: T420s & X1 have same weight so what's the big deal?
T4xx should have been X4xx series but it was shifted to T for those looking for lighter weight. People on the forum has complained about LCD to no avail. At least X220 has an IPS option. Some diehard thinkpadders no longer own any thinkpads. Others looking for better designed and higher quality com...

I have exactly what you are looking for: a stripped T20 with working mobo. The LCD works also. I no longer have a CD drive so I can't boot to live Linux or diag CD to fully test. PM me if you want pics.

I ride a 1999 Litespeed Ultimate. Its an excellent bike for long distance rides. I mostly use it for longer group rides.
For commuting I ride a Motobecane Fantom CX. I ride around the city quite a bit in the summer time for general commuting.

I am in the process of repairing a bunch of T41 machines and found I could use a method of sorting the screws during each step of parts removal. This is my old T22 that has been sitting around for a few years. The last time I tried powering it up it would not stay on. If I moved it around it would shut off. At that point it would boot to Windows, now it does not seem to boot at all. Also includes 2 docks 3 extra motherboards (not sure if the...

Re: Refurbishing and Reselling Older Machines
I guess its a little like running a small used car lot, you have to have a wholesale source for your inventory. And in the end its not a great business to be in since there are no warranties and margins are low. I know of a bunch of companies that deploy Thinkpads for their field sales team and I im...
