Re: T43 New XP install - doesn't recognize wireless card, can't

OK...VICTORY IS MINE!!! Thanks for the advice. The audio driver was not in a simple location but was hidden, embeded in a folder within a folder within a folder, etc. So I dug through and it finally loaded the right sound driver. So far, I should have known how to do all of this. It's not the first ...

Your wireless driver: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/6hwc05ww.zip I'd also suggest visiting the driver page here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-58597 My presumption would be that a vanilla XP install does not include a c...

T43 New XP install - doesn't recognize wireless card, can't

I love my T-43. But a few months ago, I got a glitch in the XP boot sequence. I have no recovery disks or anything like that so i have been running on an Ubuntu live disk for several months. So tonight, I just finally reinstalled XP from another disk. TWO QUESTIONS: 1) It will not recognize that it ...

Hmm, but a search on "extend heap" reveals many tutorials for hackers on how to exploit security weaknesses. Is a virus a possibility? Haven't had a chance to reseat the memory stick yet. But couldn't someone with an emergency boot disk or something find the problem? I don't really remember if this...

The "dynamic link library" is a file (.DLL) on your hard drive. The error message should display which .DLL it's trying to access. In any event, I'd try the following before attempting an OS re-install: - re-seat all memory modules and run a complete memory diagnostic (memtest86+) - assuming that t...

Love my T43 so much that I just paid around $300 for a new mother board for it, almost what I payed for it refurbished. Sunday afternoon, left town for a thanksgiving trip home. Assuming that you still have a good battery (one that accepts and holds a charge), my guess would be that the replacement motherboard has a blown fuse or some other problem with the battery charging circuitry. If you are running Windows, there should at least be a battery icon down in the system tr...

Just make sure you get the correct key-type (there are three).
Most offer you pictures to compare with your own keyboard.

T43 Replacing the Keyboard

Help!!!

The ."period" key fell off my T43. The little rubber thing keeps moving around and i can't find any of the little metal spring thingies. In other words, I need to replace this keyboard. Is there and easy, relatively easy way to do it?

Thanks for suggestions

Yes Error 2010 gives 2 beeps and pauses for 3 seconds, but continues to boot on its own. I used hdparm to check the ATA command features on the WD 320GB and it does support IDLE_IMMEDIATE with UNLOAD so APS will work just fine! Is it possible to disable the beep in the bios or something??...

Re: Replacing 40gb HDD in T43...general questions

All 2.5" laptop hard drives 'work well' in a T43, but some produce a 2010 boot error, which can be bypassed by a BIOS option. The largest drive that you can install that will not produce the error is the 120GB Fujitsu MHV2120AH. The best price I am finding for this particular drive is around $100. ...

I don't beleive Partition Magic has cloning capabilities, but a product like Acronis Trueimage or HDClone would work.
