T23, eCS1.2 and a Canon iP3000 printer

#1 Post by Ted_E » Mon May 30, 2005 12:55 pm

I have a Canon i850 printer that fills my needs very well and would do well for my daughter on her newly aquired T23. It is reported that the i950 driver from the IBM Omnien driver pak works well on the iP4000. It would seem likely that the i850 driver would work for the iP3000 but Murphy seldoms sleeps in. :-) Has anyone had any relevent experience? Does the iP3000 have parallel port interface as well as the USB?

Thanks,
Ted

Have you checked the usb section of http://www.netlabs.org ?
Have you checked http://www.os2warp.be - the OS/2 hardware compatibility site? Have you checked the member download section of http://www.ecomstation.com ?

I did but then Dilbert Firestone posted in one of the OS/2 NGs that he had an iP4000 and it was good. I had installed the Omnien driver for the i850 (Parallel Port) in case we managed to find one of those. The iP4000 has both USB and PP. So she went out and bought an iP4000 on sale, plugged it in and it worked fine. :-)

For those it might help: On checking I found that the iP4000 has both USB and PP interface. My daughter bought one and a PP cable (over the protests of the sales person). Plugged it in, turned it on and printed. No problems. I had already installed the i850 driver on her system.
