A friend has just purchased a refurbished T23. He has a D-link wireless router and would like to go wireless with the T23. Have any of you successfully done this with eCS 1.2? What make/model of PC-card works?

Have you checked out http://www.os2warp.be to see if there are any drivers for it for eCS? Have you checked the member download section to see if there are any drivers for it there? http://www.ecomstation.com

There is a good forum for OS/2 and eCS at http://www.os2world.com plus help at http://www.os2ecs.org .

Ideal card for your notebook is FRU 09N9904. Download the driver from
http://www.ecomstation.com/ecsdb/downlo ... h=wireless
This driver can be used for any 11b card with the Intersil Prism 2,5 chipset too.

I did not try it because i have T30 with builtin wifi card.

I used the wifi card list at http://www.os2warp.be to find compatitble cards that work with OS/2-eCS. I used that list to search at http://www.ebay.com . I found cards that work with eCS. I ordered them. I will try the drivers with them once the arrive.

I bought Artem Comcard. It is on on that list.

I tried it on A31p, T30, X21, Transnote, S30, and nothing. Card Director "did not see" it. Maybe it is because OS/2 is not supported on these machines (T30 excepted).

eComStation?

I am using eComStation on my A22m (1.2) and T23 (1.1). Have you tried eComStation? http://www.ecomstation.com It is an improved version of OS/2. eCS is based on the OS/2 kernel from IBM.

Of course, I have. All three versions, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2. I think they are not useful for old machines with few MB of RAM. For these machines Merlin is better.

They are good for newer TP. But there is a big problem - REAL support ended with T30. Thinkpads need special drivers, "Thinkpads´drivers". Is Serenity capable to make them?

I do not believe it.

Serenity or Innotek?

Either Serenity or Innotek(?).

Have you checked the driver/support section of Lenovo?
http://www.lenovo.com :?:

I am not sure whether I did understand you. Lenovo and OS/2 drivers? Lenovo and support for OS/2??

some drivers found

If you go to http://www.lenovo.com ,to their support section, it takes you to the IBM driver page for Thinkpads. It lists a large variety of models. I have found OS/2 drivers for some models. Have you checked there? :?:

On Lenovo site there are few drivers for newer types.
Try to find something for X21 - you will find nothing. For A31p you will find only Ethernet driver and hibernation utility. Yes, there are more drivers for Txx series.

If you want to find more os/2 drivers it is better to visit this site:

http://www7.software.ibm.com/2bcprod.nsf

In folder "System" you can see more useful things. But mostly for older machines. As I wrote new TP are not supported.

"......

Here's the secret to getting GenMac and XWLan working with wireless PC cards:

http://kannegieser.net/~veit/

Go to the directory for test versions link and get cbenable_test.zip and pciconf_test.zip. After many frustrating hours, I came across mention of them on the GenMac gmane forums. They allowed my DWL-G650 card to be recognized on my Thinkpad T21."

From the forum at http://www.os2world.com (it might be of some help to some).

I just installed a Intel 2200bg in my thinkpad T23. I have it working with latest genmak driver and xwlan widget. Connecting at 54Mbit.

You could contact Lewis G Rosenthal on the os2wireless list he may still have one for a good price.

Intel Pro/Wireless LAN PC Card and T23

I installed the wireless card with my T23 . I thought it would work since it is listed at http://www.os2warp.be . I tried differnt drivers but none worked. I did not see OS/2 mentioned in the booklet. I checked the cdrom expecting to see only Windows support but found a section for OS/2. I will try it with eCS and my T23. :) I wish I had tried it before going to WarpStock. http://www.warpstock.org The hotel at Windsor Ontario Canada had only wifi connections. Everyone else - most used Thinkpads - were able to connect. I was not but - hopefully - will soon. 8)
