PCMCIA modem for T20 w/ OS/2 MCP2

#1 Post by mires » Mon Feb 21, 2005 7:45 am

My T20 comes with the3Com combo mini-pci card, of course under OS/2 only the ethernet part works.

Tried to install the Xircom RBEM56G-100 Pcmcia card as there are OS/2 drivers for it, however I can't get the modem part to be seen. I did disable the Pcmcia & Socket services as per instructions to no avail.

Is there a way to make this modem card to work under OS/2?

What largely available plain modem pmcia card could I use to have an hassle-free install and functioning for OS/2.

Thanks, mires.

Thanks, mires.
I use the Zoom V.92 PC Card Model 3075.
On my T20 I just plugged it in and it showed up as Com2 and worked great. My T20 had the Lucent WinModem in it and there is an OS/2 driver for it but I have had really terrible performance with it. The Zoom works great though.
Also a Viking FM56KPA or RFM56KPA should work the same as well.
