eComStation Roadmap for 2005

#1 Post by madodel » Fri Mar 18, 2005 10:11 pm

http://www.ecomstation.com/edp/mod/file ... ap2005.pdf

"In August of 2004, Serenity Systems International released eComStation 1.2, a significant product update with many new and expanded features. This Roadmap reviews the current status of eComStation and outlines the plan for delivery of new features. These new features represent significant activity, improving the usability of the product and extending the support for eComStation on current PC hardware. We believe users will find this information nothing short of exciting news. Users should consider this information for planning purposes, only."

By the way, SS is currently working on eCS 2.x which is supposed to allow for bootable JFS drives. If they ever manage to get that one working, then I would consider switching myself from WSeB to eCS.
I've used JFS since Aurora, but keep in mind that there are limited recovery tools for JFS, so a really good backup strategy is mandatory. There is JRescuer http://ecomstation.ru/jrescuer but I've never used it. Basically because I've never had a problem. That said a big cache and a journaled chkdsk are very useful. And supporting up to 2TB filesize/partition size is necessary these days with 200+ GB drives.
