I came very close but did not end of buying, this time, from him but I just wanted to say that jamiphar (James) was very helpful and straightforward in answering all of my questions. I really appreciate his honesty and willingness to help.

I just completed a transaction with goofyGAguy through eBay. I bought a used short fan for my T40. His communication was superb, the packaging was excellent, the shipping was lightning fast, the total price was a bargain, and, oh, yeah, IT WORKS!!

He even put a dab of thermal paste on the bottom of the fan where it sits just above the CPU. Heck, I didn't even realize that's where the CPU was.

Couldn't be happier to not hear that grinding sound, and not see the dreaded "Fan error" message at boot up.

I just bought an X61 + UltraBase from BobA - great transaction, the computer was in great shape, and my wife is very happy. :)

Also, this is about three years too late, but I bought a T23 from Neil and had a great experience also.

Many thanks to fuscob for the very pleasant transaction, great communication, and the great UXGA T60p which was accurately described, nicely packed and shipped promptly.

Great thanks also go to sjthinkpader, from whom I've bought a 32GB Samsung SSD and a ZIF-to-USB adapter, and also received very helpful advice on choosing and using the adapter and all that tricky 5V-vs-3.3V matters.

The SSD is intended for my X41t, which was in turn bought here, on the Marketplace forum. My very belated thanks and appreciation to RealBlackStuff for the smooth transaction of last year. This great tablet was snugly packed in his signature double Priority Mail Box package, the inner part of which I still use for lugging notebooks around :)

Just conducted my first business on this forum last week with:

GB

(since his name is all but impossible to search for in this thread)

Very positive first experience - he gets 4 out of 4 on my basic four point scale:

- the advertised product
- in the advertised condition
- for a reasonable price
- with timely shipping

Let's see, what else...

- I don't know much about packaging, but it seemed solid. My purchase was for some ram, and I'm confident I could have thrown the package up against a wall a few dozen times with no risk to the product.
- Communication was good (though I suppose that in order to really test that, something has to actually go wrong, which nothing did in this case...).

Long story short, would definitely do business with GB again.
