non-trackpad keyboard for current thinkpad (the uni-buttons)

#1 Post by ibm350 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 8:34 pm

Heya.

I've become really frustrated with how difficult it is to get a reliable 'click' from the trackpad-combined buttons.

I'm Running windows, and have the trackpad turned off in the driver, but I have to click halfway down the trackpad to get a response.

So I wondered - has anyone looked inside the new compact thinkpad usb/bluetooth keyboards to see if the cableing connectors are compatible?

Yes, it would mean making a custom palm-rest, but given that i've taken to using a mouse, and the touchscreen on the t440s because the buttons are so aweful - it may well be worth it :(

I am hoping that when I'm done with the windows work i need, that I can instead hack the linux driver to do my bidding, but thats many months away.
