Meanwhile, the even older Panasonic battery is still kicking is this T60 I'm typing on, although capacity degraded a bit as well.

And two days ago (five years after the previous post) this Panasonic failed as well. Aged almost 17 years, last recorded capacity was 34Wh.
Power Manager displays 86% charge, but "battery error has occured", cannot be charged, and laptop powers off immediately when not on AC.
