BIOS whitelist removal what is the best resource

#1 Post by Snailer2 » Thu Mar 21, 2024 1:32 pm

Hello everyone!

I purchased a Thinkpad T480 recently.
I want to remove BIOS Wi-Fi whitelist and already bought an SPI programmer
Now I would like to hear the community's opinion on which of the following sites is most trustworthy:

BIOS-MODS

TechInferno

BIOS-DOCTOR

So, what option is the best in terms of response time, relability and security ?

AFAIK the T480 doesn't event have a BIOS whitelist.
Have you actually tried installing a different WiFi card and encountered the 1802 Error?
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
Impulse Buy: Thinkpad not named for safety reasons

Indeed no wifi-whitelist on T480.
If ever needed, I would try Techinferno first, BIOS-MOD second, no way for noob BIOS-DOCTOR.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Indeed no wifi-whitelist on T480.
There is great news in that case!
My previous machine was the X230; it has a whitelist. That's why I think the situation with the T480 is the same.

I would try Techinferno
In your opinion, why is this particular resource the best?
