need to boot ssd multiple times in xp
need to boot ssd multiple times in xp
I just installed a Sandisk ultra 120gb ssd in a T-60. I have it set up with xp and linux. No problem booting into linux. I have to try 4 times to get it to boot into xp sp2. this happens like clockwork all the time. The bios is set to ahci, and the xp install disk is good (includes the ahci driver) I've used the xp disk on a hdd with no problem. I can see the sdd in the bios correctly identified. It always boots up but after 4 attempts. I'm hoping there is some setting I can change to fix this - Sandisk support has not been helpful. When it finally boots it works great.

Don't use XP on an SSD, it is really too long in the tooth by now.
Change to Windows 7.

Stuck with xp - too cheap to buy 7 -I like xp and 7 uses too much resources - meanwhile, back at the problem -
Re: need to boot ssd multiple times in xp
Don't know personally. but I've heard that the order in which the os's are installed matters. Google it

Try changing AHCI to Compatibility.
And if you install multiple windows, always begin with the oldest (w1.0/w3.1/w3.11/w95/w98/w98se/nt/w2k/me/xp/vista/7).
