Hello all
I am doing Windows Updates on the R61i, and updates now gives a suggested update for the Nvidia graphics chip. Size 177MB. Is this a generic Windows issued update, or is it something created by nVidia, with the knowledge of the chip that's needed for making the best possible driver? The graphics driver used now is the one I downloaded from Lenovo's site when I installed Win7 last year. So this one is definitely newer, but the question is if it's more suitable or not. I know there has been some talk about the drivers for these chips, and that the correct driver might have some influence on this chip's life. The R61i is a a daily driver for me, so it's no big deal when (if) it dies, but I was wondering about this anyway. I see no point in doing this update if it's no difference, and particularly not if it makes things worse for the poor chip.
I suspect this update might be available for the Frankenpad too soon, so this question affects that machine too. That has a safe date Nividia chip, but I'm still interested in having the best possible driver.
Thanks for any answer.

Personally, I get all of my updates directly from nvidia's site...and was quite pleased so far.
Obviously, YMMV.

Ok, that makes sense, and was to some extent what I figured. So I will just hide the Windows update and go to nVidia's site and see what I might find there. Thanks!
