Samsung LTN141X8-L00 pin layout (IBM Thinkpad monitor)

#1 Post by mordax » Thu Mar 05, 2015 3:01 pm

Hi. i'm not sure if this is right place to post it in, but i found a topic that has similar thing in it, i didn't want to post in there, because it's not exactly related. this topic: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=94254

What i want to do, is use the monitor for my project, but i don't know the pin layout. it has something on monitor, but it's confusing as it only has 10 pins, but cable has 20 pins.
it's the one that is 25mm lenght and 20 pins (shown on picture in that topic http://i.pchub.com/uph/photos/item/6340 ... 1_10CM.JPG)

I have old VGA monitor cables laying around and i was hoping i can convert that monitor to work with VGA cable. i'm not interested in buying any other parts, because i can get a VGA LCD monitor for cheaper than a single cable. I just wanna do it for the sake of it and convert it.

I think a pin layout for that cable would do or is there anything else i should know? i'm aware that 2 of those pins must be power and most likely 5v or 12v. my idea is to cut the original flat cable and solder VGA straight to it and input the voltage it needs and i don't need the backlight.
