T41 screen fuzzing out when moved slightly or when its warm

#1 Post by chowda633 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 7:47 pm

Seems to be a common issue. I just can't find a concrete answer on how to fix it. Just started out of the blue. If I flex the laptop a bit it will return to normal but as soon as I let the pressure of it fuzzes up again.

It works fine when connected to an external monitor the external monitor does not fuzz up.

Also when I used to unplug the power cord and run it on the battery that would stop it from fuzzing up as well. But overtime it does not matter if I plug it in or run it on battery it will fuzz up.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks,
Josh

Yes, the GPU chip is becoming unstuck.
Only solution: professionally reball that chip, or replace the motherboard.
