[SOLVED] This program does not support this system HOTKEY
[SOLVED] This program does not support this system HOTKEY
Go to last post for solution
Hi all.
As in title.
When installing the hotkey driver on my T43p (Windows 7 Ultimate x86) I get that error. I literally tried everything (list below).
• Running in administrator mode
• Running in XP and Vista mode
• Installed both Power Management driver and Power manager software
• Used Thinkpad Update to install and update everything. Didn't work either, and now it's super slow because of all the Thinkpad crapware.
It's a Thinkpad T43p 2668-PEG upgraded with 2x1GB PC2-4200 RAM and a 160GB 7200rpm Hard drive.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Best regards, Frederik

Well, on their site when you enter 2668PEG as the number, and choose Software and Utilities, and pick the only one for Windows 7, it's called "8jvu34ww.exe", or "Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP (32-bit, 64-bit) and 2000 - ThinkPad". Released on the 26th of February 2013.

You need the hotkey driver first, and the utility later, I believe...can't check that from my PDA right now...

Hi, were you able to check up on this?
I can't seem to find the hotkey driver, only the utility one on Lenovo's support site.
Thanks
Best regards, Frederik.

If that doesn't work, try running System Update and see where that gets you.

I already tried System Update with no luck.
Though that link you sent me, worked when running it in compatibility mode as Windows XP SP2 and as administrator, so now it's working again, though keep in mind that it doesn't syncronize with windows' sound control panel, so I can have it fully turned up, with windows still showing nothing.
Never the less, thanks a bunch.
Re: "This program does not support this system" HOTKEY on T43p
I think programmers screwed something in last versions of hotkey utility.
I get an error message 'app crashed...', if i simply hit Fn+F5 keys (on my both laptops).
Got that on Windows 7 x64, wireless/bluetooth drivers are from lenovo!
This version works fine: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... vu20ww.exe
You may try it...

Re: [SOLVED] This program does not support this system HOTKEY
I just installed the driver from your download link, and it worked perfectly on my X61 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 install. I presume this covers the x86 versions as well. Anyway a big thank you as I have been caught out by broken versions of Hotkey software before!

IIRC package version 3.81.0100 from 8jvu23ww.exe (the next version available for download) is the latest one that installs on these platforms - it can be found in the table at the bottom here:Shredder11 wrote:I just installed the driver from your download link, and it worked perfectly on my X61 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 install. Several versions above that one I tried return "This program does not support this system" for some reason. It'd be nice to know why exactly as Release Notes clearly state W7 32- and 64-bit are both supported, as well as entire T4x and X6x range.
