3GB RAM in T43

#1 Post by masterus » Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:02 am

Hi Every1,

I have installed totally 3GB RAM in my T43.
2GB in under keyboard and 1GB on the bottom of the T43
BIOS sees 3GB RAM but Windows XP only 2GB RAM.
Why? Is there any particulart reason that XP doesn't see 3 GB RAM
Thanx for all you answers.

Regards,
Robert

The chipset can only handle 2GB, even if physically you could put 4GB in.

RBS is right, chipset has hardware limit to 2GB and there is no workaround to get 3GB working. If you need to speed up your T43, you can try 4GB SSD disk in ExpressCard slot and use it for ReadyBoost technology (Vista/W7). Somebody on the forums claimed that Lexar ExpressCard SSD 4GB works fine in this way.
