Lenovo created system account for RegistryTools.exe

#1 Post by jgrobertson » Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:32 pm

I found a machine account on my Vista 64 A55. It is

hdolybUHMGLO

Inside, I found in Local/ApplicationHistory and ini file for Registrytools.exe

ExecutablePath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\RegistryTools.exe

What is this doing here? The only reference I find online is to something about it being part of Lenovo update. Why is that messing with my registry?

Well, lenovo is the manufacturer of your thinkcentre and the purpose of registry file is to store general hardware or software information about your system which is a very normal process in Microsoft operating systems.

If a good antiVirus, antiSpyware and registry cleaner reports nothing, it would not bother me then.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
