R & R on T30

#1 Post by burns334 » Fri Apr 11, 2014 11:15 am

Folks, I restored my T30 from the R&R console, it starts up ok and goes online fine but I can't go anywhere as IE is incompatible with today's "system". How should I go about getting updated? Load a zip drive with "?" and install in unit, but what program? A newer version of IE, Chrome?

Given that I've updated a boat-load of WinXP systems around the vintage of your T30 in the last few days, I'd opt to go with IE 8 and Firefox 28 (do it quickly before they upgrade it again next week! :) ). I've tried out Chrome and Opera but have always returned to Firefox, even though it's quite a memory hog.

I don't understand when you say you can "go(es) online fine but can't go anywhere". Exactly which sites can you get to and what are the ones you can't? I'm assuming you're running at least IE 5.5 (Win2K) or IE 6 (WinXP). Those programs shouldn't be that out-of-date with the majority of web sites out there.

Ray, I was able to get it to see my wifi and connect, but I get the message that it can't find any server when I open IE. Am I missing something in a setting, I haven't had to configure any of that in a loooong time. IE V6.0.2600.0000 on machine

I can feel a head slap coming, lol

No head slap, tried all settings I could find and final just restored the system again and guess what, it all worked fine. I guess something just did not load during the first load.
