Buttons on Thinkpad T22

#1 Post by chzuck » Fri Jun 13, 2014 10:26 am

I have been trying to find out the purpose of a button on my thinkpad T22. It is the one below the left and right mouse button, the one with the blue line on it. Can anyone explain what it is for?

It's usually used as a scroll button in combination with the trackpoint. But, I think it can be assigned different functions with the trackpoint software (not sure...scroll is all I've ever used it for).

As Neil said, it is mostly used for scrolling up/down/left/right. You can also tap the button to perform the same functions like on the middle scroll button on 3 button mice.

Also, if you are using a Linux distro, it is used for pasting text from the clipboard (after selecting it via the cursor, which performs a copy action). Essentially, it represents the middle button of a 3-buttoned mouse.
