I haven't used my trusty T30 for quite some time. It works fine, I just have a newer laptop. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it; if it's worth anything, I may sell it. If it's not, I may keep it as a backup or give it to somebody who needs a computer.
It's a 2367-88U; P4-M 2.0G, motherboard replaced under the RAM slot deal, 768MB RAM and 80G, 7200RPM hard drive. XP Pro SP2 with restore discs, full Office 2003, wireless and USB 2.0 cards. There are two batteries; not sure how good they are, and the power brick. I think there's one minor crack on the lid that I fixed, other than that, it's in mint condition.
Any ideas what it might be worth?

Personally:
I have purchased 1 for $29 shipped
And
1 for $125 shipped

That said, you will sell it for 1/3 to 1/2 what you think it is worth.

Well, I'll take a guess. The hard drive alone is worth $60. So I'd say at least $100, maybe $150, tops.

Your up against complete T60's that start in the $200 range.

between 75 to 150 dollars is the average price of a T30, but usually 100 to 120 dollars are the most common prices i have seen.

More like $50. Several months ago, I had for sale a 100GB 7200rpm IDE laptop HDD with a year warranty remaining for $60 and had a tough time selling it.

+1 You can get bigger, new for same or not much more off of ebay/egghead. Hard drives are a disposable commodity in anything <500G.

Don't forget that the largest PATA 2.5" HD is "only" 320GB.

Amazing that a perfectly good laptop computer is only worth $50.
Think I'll keep it as my field computer when I go to sketchy places.

Cheapest T30 systems that were described as operational and in fair condition recently sold on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0510720262 ($47; no HD, 256MB, CDROM, battery, AC)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0534363632 ($51; no HD, 512MB, DVD, battery, no AC)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0326137553 ($51, no HD, 256MB, no optical, no battery, no AC)

On the other extreme, the most expensive systems sold in the last month or so:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0709528494 ($294; 2.2Ghz, 60GB HD (w/XP and Office), 1GB, CDRW/DVD combo, battery, AC)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0465350795 ($215; 2Ghz, 60GB HD (w/XP and Office), 1GB, CDRW/DVD combo, battery, AC)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0617602732 ($200; 2Ghz, 60GB HD (w/XP), 512MB, CDRW/DVD combo, battery, AC)

My personal opinion on why you see $200+ sales is due to the inclusion of the OS and Office suite.

Very likely true. And often, though not always, buyers are not getting licensed copies of the OS, and seldom the office suite.

Mine used to be my front line work laptop. It's got XP Pro and full Office suite. I even have a docking station for it. Still, you have to use cards for WiFi and USB 2.0.
I looked at some of those eBay bids. $15 for a 1.8Ghz T30? That's less than a trip to the gas station.
