This Lenovo site says V2.27 dated "25 Apr 2011" for all 4:3 T60 models :

T60/T60p (4:3 displays only) latest actual mоddеd biоs is here:
Flash from Windows (32-bit only!): http://www.technosphere.in.ua/diff/ibm/t60-x86-227.zip

Thanks for that. Is that for a 15" 4:3 T60 [2007-7KU]?

I love my T60 and would hate to brick it. However it'd be nice to have 'n' wireless.

Thanks.

That should be the 4:3 version ... note the "227" ... 2.27 is the latest square-screen BIOS whereas the latest widescreen BIOS is 1.19.

The "227.iso" file is the exact same size as the .iso I used for my 15" 4:3 T60 .... though it has a different filename and is hosted at a different site.

Thanks for that. Now.... Is that enough confirmation to risk my beloved ThinkPad? It'd be nice to hear from someone who's used it, or get access to a known-good 'no 1802' modded BIOS...

I bought an Intel WiFi Link 5100 card that came from an R500 that I'd hoped would work without a kludge. :-) Alas, it's not so, 1802 comes up when I fit it.

Hopefully someone will give us a link to a modded BIOS that's known good (or even the file).

Another option is this one :
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-I ... 0-SLIC-2-1

Posted by a BIOS-Mods Super Moderator ... downloaded 75 times with no complaints posted.

But, I would use the previously referenced .iso file before using the above link which is a Windows phlash mechanism.

Thanks for that. I've downloaded the ISO but will wait a while longer before running it as I haven't bought my new wireless router yet. (It's still a pain when I take my TP out to not have N but I'm not planning on taking it out for a week or two yet.)

I actually have several cards that support N but the one I tried is a) From a ThinkPad and b) Has only two antenna nipples. My T60 only has two antenna so that's a good match (although I could run a third under the palm rest maybe... I wouldn't want to try putting it in the lid).

The other cards I have are out of Tosh lappies and have three nipples.

Cheers,

Download links mentioned by me above are for squared 4:3 15" Thinkpad T60/T60p. I used one for flash under Windows and it works as it should (actually i'm writing this reply from my healthy and happy T60p now).
For those who is afraid of using these BIOS'es, - I didn't do them by myself, but got them from reliable sources over the internet and just uploaded to my web-site so they can be available for the community as long as possible. Almost all other sources for these files are broken now.
Hope this info helps.

Ok, thanks mcsound, I've downloaded both versions and will likely use one next week, probably the ISO, if nothing else comes up. :)

Cheers,

Personally I would NOT apply this BIOS that GACrabill mentioned (http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-I ... 0-SLIC-2-1).
He may be a Supermod on that forum, but after reading up on a few mods that he has made (a meal of), he is IMHO "in the land of the blind, OneEye is king".
Also, he does not even seem to be able to combine both Slic and NoWhitelist in one BIOS. A highly suspicious (South-American?) character. :BAAAD!:
OTOH, I have applied the MyDigitalLife BIOS (as mentioned by MCSound, and stored a.o. on technosphere several times with great success. YMMV.

Thanks Dom, that's pretty much exactly what I needed to know and was hoping to hear.

Best,

Hi All. I have T60p widescreen with original BIOS v1.19 but only G wlan card. To replace wlan with N card like Intel 5100N i need modification bios, but all i found was a bios to 4:3 model, all other links are dead.
I try to modificate bios manually with instructions from Zender, but i have an error on decompressing bios v1.19 .rom file

Сan anyone to upload bios v1.19 or earlier with no-whitelist modification (with slic 2.1 it would perfect)?
Thanks!

Just an update, I used the iso to flash my T60 square and it went fine. There was an error message after rebooting but I just saved the settings and everything boots up fine everytime after. I also installed a intel 5100 wireless card after the bios update and it installed fine.

My apologies for bumping on an old thread but I am also looking for a T60 WS modded BIOS with whitelist removed to allow other types of wifi cards.

The file seems to be called Lenovo_T60_7iuj17us_LENOVO_SLIC_SSV2_WL_removed.rar but unfortunately the previous link is no longer active:

mediafire.com/download.php?sp1l11i1xpsiw41

Any help is appreciated...TIA!

Update - looks like I found it (I think) - found here:
