T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
I am writing from Spain and this is my first message, I first give my greetings to all participants of this forum asking for forgiveness for my poor English writing, it is important that you can understand me.
I have two ThinkPad, a R40 (2722) and T60p (2007YS3). The question that I want to ask is if I can change the LCD screen to put a UXGA in the T60p.
This notebook has a 15.0 in TFT active matrix Flexview
Max Resolution 1400 x 1050 (SXGA +).
I have read that the correct reference is HV150UX1 I-102 . In addition to the screen needs some accessory more?
Thank you very much for your opinions, best regards.

Hello Pajaro Loco & welcome to the forum -
Yes, it's possible to swap your existing 15.0" SXGA+ with a BOE-hydis HV150UX1-100 UXGA LCD
Can confirm ebay seller: cgsplcd have genuine new old stocks of BOE-hydis HV150UX1-101 UXGA lcds which have been proven to work within ThinkPad T60's - [I have bought several and confirm received Grade-A stock!] - All you need to do is swap out your existing SXGA+. [With the help of the T60 Hardware Maintenance Manual you'll be good to go!]

Welcome to the forum, Pajaro Loco!
Just a hint; you may perhaps also find the thread Upgrade T60 XGA to 15" UXGA. Need guidance of use. For background information you may perhaps also want to have a look through the sticky LCDs on T60/T60p - types, availability and other discussions - it is quite lenghty, but interesting if you want to decide what specific manufacturer LCD to get (e.g. 13N7075/13N7076 or the more rare AFFS 13N7194). My advice: Be sure to get a genuine Lenovo LCD - because of the EDID issue (use the search-function of this forum - found in the menu at the top - or use Google, to search for "T60 EDID LCD").
A lot of useful information (e.g. about disassembling and assembling T60's) may be found in the Lenovo training sites. Moreover, there are a lot of useful videos on Youtube like e.g. Laptop screen replacement, LCD screen replacement guide [IBM ThinkPad T60].
Update: I just Google'd and found this or this potentially fairly cheap 13N7076 T60 UXGA FlexView LCD - although there is one spooky thing in the listing of the latter; the listing says "surface: glossy"... and a genuine 13N7076 is matte!?! An error in the listing or what? Maybe a good idea to contact the seller before bidding - and if so, ask about dead or stuck pixels, and have the seller confirm that this IS indeed a brand-new, unused panel. The seller has a fine sales feedback, but has also only very few sales...
Please keep us posted about your progress - and good luck!
Johan

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
Thank you very much for your good information johan.
One more question please display models with 15.4, it could also make the switch to 15 · UXGA screen or can not be because of different size? In my job all the laptops are WSXGA+ TFT Display 15,4" 1680x1050, only the boss have an spectacular W520.
Thanks again.

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
Someone here did put a UXGA LCD into a R500, but obviously had to modify the LCD housing. It didn't seem particularly portable.

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
If you are asking if you can directly fit an UXGA LCD intended for an "old-fashioned" 4:3-format 15" T60 into a wide-screen 15.4" T60, then the answer is no - the 4:3 LCD and the widescreen displays are obviously of different physical dimensions (by the way: Why do you ask this question - what are you interested in accomplishing?)Pajaro Loco wrote:One more question please display models with 15.4, it could also make the switch to 15 · UXGA screen or can not be because of different size? Widescreen T60/p's came with WXGA, WSXGA+ and WUXGA as seen in the ThinkPad Notebooks; 2005 to present (withdrawn models, Oct. 2011, ver. 408) (NB: A 25 MB download!).
A hint: The so-called FlexView/IPS LCD's are/were only available in regular 4:3-format T60/p's (and not in any widescreen T60/p'sThinkPad's). If you search for "FlexView" you will discoved that this display technology is by far preferred over widescreen LCD's by many, many users. My advice: Carefully consider what you like best; the old 4:3 format T60/p's or the widescreen T60/p's - and go for that.
Your present T60p (2007-YS3) has a 4:3 format SXGA+ LCD of the FlexView/IPS type.

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
OK is fully clarified. Too bad that today's notebooks do not equip these screens, saving only a few such as x220 and some more.
UXGA buy on eBay tomorrow to put on my laptop, I find it easy to change.
Many thanks again.

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
I bought a UXGA screen from swiftetctech on ebay to put into my T60 which currently has the SXGA screen.
However, no joy!
It displays on an external screen but not on the new laptop screen. (I get all the flashing lights on the onverter card too)
I have seen the cable is labelled fru 91p6950 which is when I do a search a T43 UXGA cable!.
The screen itself is labelled as HV150UX1-101
The ebay ad said it was T60/T60p LCD 15.1 UXGA FFS Hydis.
ad all the screen specs seemed right for the T60 screen.
But it does not display.
IS the wrong UXGA cable fitted? the HMM manual for the T60 says it should be 91p6983 without bluetooth or 91p6985 with bluetooth?
or is there a problem with the edid?
Grateful for any ideas

You need a T60/T60p LCD cable in a T60/p machine

Re: T60 upgrade to UXGA resolution
I also purchased a uxga lcd from Swiftech ebay seller and installed in a t60p. It works fine except there are several dust spots in the display that are a bit annoying considering it was supposed to be a new display. I have contacted the seller to see what they suggest but have not heard back. I will update this post when I hear back.
