T60 motherboard compatibility

#1 Post by Dbruyere » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:08 am

I have a T60 2007-EC1 with a motherboard pn#41W1368. I recently was playing around with trying to put OS X on it and something went wrong and now I am unable to get past the security prompt. When I boot up, I get a prompt and I enter my password, get the OK then it goes to a second prompt identical to the first. I have no memory of what I put as the password. So, since my kids are now using the computer, I would like to replace the board. I would like to get a board with the 256mb video on it so I was wondering if anybody can tell me if I can replace my 41W1368 with 44C3981? The 44C3981 board was pulled from a 2007-93U.

Thanks!

Yep, that board will work just fine.

So I swapped out the motherboard and now have a new problem. I tried running Windows Experience Index and when the 3D assessment started the system crashed without warning. Just went dead. I had to pull the battery and the ac to reset it. I installed all the latest drivers and chipset. I went into Catalyst Control Panel and when I clicked on the 3D settings, the second the 3D Object starts moving the system crashes. Any thoughts? Or should I start another thread?

Thanks!
