optical drive and/or hdd not recognized in Ultrabay

#1 Post by my03 » Tue Dec 30, 2014 3:14 pm

Hi,

I'm having severe problems getting my DVD and hdd to work in my T61 ultrabay.

I currently run Windows 7*64 on this machine (T61 - 14.1 w. 4Gb ram and upgraded cpu to a T9300). when upgrading it to windows 7, the DVD stopped working. When i power the machine up, i notice that the led on the dvd (and hdd in its ultrabay cradle) flashes but then nothing....

In windows 7, there is no sign of any ultrabay device in device manager. Also, there is no trace of any sata controller anywhere to be found.

Same goes for the lenovo "power manager" (no trace of it).

I run the Middleton bios (2.29 i think it is) since i wanted to gain Sata-2 speeds when using the Samsung 840 Evo SSD drive that it currently boots from. Don't know if this custom bios disables the ultrabay (i guess not).

There is no signs of any ultrabay device in the bios either.

Could i have missed to re-attach something to the mainboard when i made the cpu-swap?

Any hints/pointers/things to try much appreciated.

br

Dan
