Hi,
When I press Fn to resume my T60P from sleep, the AC-plug symbol goes dark along with any other symbols that may have been lit (I'm running without the battery installed), and I can't restart the machine. This happens whether it goes to sleep on the timer, or if I press Fn+F4 to put it to sleep.
To restart the machine I must first unplug the adapter plug from the machine and plug it back in. When I do so, the AC-plug symbol goes back on, and I can restart.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I'm running Win7 Pro 32 bit.
Many thanks!

Try putting in a good working battery.
Also, boot from a life Linux CD.
If the problem continues, you have a hardware problem.
If it disappears you have a Windows problem.

Re: Resume from sleep by pressing Fn fails, and T60P turns self off
Thank you for the advice.
To eliminate possible causes, I'm trying various combinations with and without applications open when I put the machine to sleep. So far I've noticed that whether the machine resumes from sleep or not with Fn is time related -- it resumes normally after half an hour or so, but not overnight.
If it's a hardware problem, what could it be?
Is it's Windows related, what should I do to fix it?
I'll post more information as I eliminate causes if I can find any.
Thanks.

Re: Resume from sleep by pressing Fn fails, and T60P turns self off
I have put a battery in the machine and charged it to full. I then put the machine into sleep mode using Fn + F4, and let it sleep for 5 hours.
I then pressed Fn, and got the same behavior as without the battery: the lights on the machine went out, and the machine wouldn't resume.
The only difference this time was unplugging the adapter and plugging it back into the machine didn't get the A.C. light to go on. To do so I had to remove the battery, then unplug and replug in the adapter.
FWIW, the battery still had a full charge when I restarted the machine.
So if this test means I have a Windows problem, what do you suggest I do next? Or might the cause lie elsewhere?
Many thanks for any advice.
