Vista 64 updates fail to install, T60P
I am running Vista 64 SP1 on a T60P (with core 2 duo processor).
The system update recommended these two Vista updates. After running the update process, it reported that they did not install.
Windows Vista Update Module KB932063 64bit
Windows Vista Update Module KB929637 64bit
What is going on here?

Is this through Windows Update or using the IBM update program? If you are using WU try this...
Go to Services and Stop the Windows update service.
Browse to \Windows\SoftwareDistribution
Delete everything in the Download folder
Delete everything in the Datastore folder
Run Windows Update again and see if it works this time.
This will delete your Winodws Update history and all downloaded updates but it will not remove the updates from your system. You can still remove them from Add/Remove programs.
If you are using the IBM update manager it could just be an old update that is not required by your system.

I believe, but am not 100% certain, that these updates have been superseded by updates with different KB#'s contained within SP1. But it seems Lenovo's system update is not smart enough to figure that out.

Re: Vista 64 updates fail to install, T60P
Given that the update in question, Windows Vista Update Module KB932063 is over 4.1 GB, one wonders at the need to install it, or what it could possibly be (that's larger than SP1 or 2, isn't it?).

I'm not all that certain that it matters in the least six years later...WillAdams wrote:Given that the update in question, Windows Vista Update Module KB932063 is over 4.1 GB, one wonders at the need to install it, or what it could possibly be (that's larger than SP1 or 2, isn't it?).

And here I was about to ask why someone was still running Vista SP1.ajkula66 wrote:I'm not all that certain that it matters in the least six years later...
