T60p Sata 2
T60p Sata 2
Has anyone found out how to turn on the sata 2 speed on the T60p? My technolust got the better of me and I purchased a Intel X25 ssd 80gb. I then discovered that my T60p sata 2 speed was throttle down. Is there a possiblity that Lenovo will issue a bios fix for this problem? What tweaks me is that I waited to replace my T41p for a Thinkpad with sata 2. Did Lenovo ever publicly state that they had limited the speed of the sata 2.

Re: T60p Sata 2
No fix there, not yet anyway. AFAIK, even T61 runs at SATA 1 speeds...

Re: T60p Sata 2
I once heard that this is actually a hardware problem with the Intel controller, but I really don´t know if that is true either.

Re: T60p Sata 2
I have it from a reliable source that this issue is being worked on for T61/p, but not T60/p...

Re: T60p Sata 2
So, would then the "fix" involve only some BIOS upgrade or also some hardware "fix" (like changing the mobo)?

Re: T60p Sata 2
Fix would be BIOS-related, from what I've been told...
Now, given the layoffs and everything else that is going on in Lenovo, I highly doubt that it's the very first on their list of priorities, but I might be wrong...
