Help breathing life into an old x41t

#1 Post by youwonder » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:33 pm

Recently got a broken one, to do list is as follows:

Get it to turn on (kind of a big thing...maybe)
new backlight for the LCD
RAM upgrade
SATA mod the mobo and put a 64GB SSD in it
???

So the thing wouldn't turn on, I'd get a battery charging light and that's it (checked the power supply with a multi meter and the voltage is ok, but the cord is frayed in a few areas)
Couple friends suggested the processor, and I agreed with them, so seeing that the processor is soldered on to the mobo I just bought a new mobo off ebay...no dice, same stuff. Back to square one here, any ideas?
Few things: I have the dock, it wont turn on with either the two power buttons on the unit itself, or the power button on the dock.
like I said the only thing I get when plugged in is the battery charging light.

Edit: situation resolved, for whatever reason the keyboard was...dead or something, and this was preventing it from turning on (what the *&^%). Removing the keyboard and using the power button on the screen bezel works flawlessly. Welp, off to get a new keyboard.
