Ibm X41 Admin access problem

#1 Post by ShapeCharger » Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:17 am

Hi!

My problem is that I have an Ibm X41 (non-tablet) and I can't access admin mode. If I press the blue access ibm button nothing happens, also i have a 2010 error, but i don't think it is the real problem.

another question:

I would like to order a kingspec 32gb, to replace my faulty drive, can i do it without the admin access. (there is no hdd password set)

Help me please!

As far as I am aware, the HDD is automatically detected regardless, I added a Kingspec 32GB SSD to my X41 Tablet - I always get the 2010 error since it's not an "authorised HDD model". I didn't have to go into the BOs for abuthing, just plug it in and load it up.

What do you need to change? I would take out the drive and see if you still can access the BIOS, then do the changes and attach the drive again.

But as the previous poster said, you don't need to change anything in the BIOS because of a new drive...

The 2010 error can be remedied easily with a hacked BIOS upgrade:

What do you mean with admin access, do you have a supervisor password for the BIOS?
Or is it admin in Windows?

Yes I understand that there is nothing to change in the BIOS to install a new hard drive.
I have an administration password on the BIOS, and I happen to access it for different reasons

Press the F1 key when the system is first powered on; during the time when the "splash" screen is being displayed.
