Sleep hangs Leopard on my X61 without EFI. Haven't gotten EFI booting working yet.

Sleep hangs Leopard on my X61 without EFI. Haven't gotten EFI booting working yet.
With Tiger, and the power management patches I'd always get the Error 192: Embedded Security Hardware Tamper detected.

Just wondering if Leopard had changed this behaviour.

I'll try and get EFI working and see if it makes a difference.

pseudo sleep works. Get EFI working. It makes your life easier :-) You also need dsmos.kext. More here. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php? ... ntry501609

YOU ROCK!

Well Folks - I have Ethernet and the Atheros Wireless working on Leopard on my T60!!!

mfbernstrein is exactly right in how to do this.

Edit /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext/Contents/Info.plist
adding a line for your device ID under IONameMatch (the line is "<string>pci168c,1014</string>").

I then followed the guide that is here on how to load a kext.

http://forum.osx86scene.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=229

It DID NOT work until I rebotted with a -f.

Thanks again mfbernstein!

I will post a review of this here as I test.

I just wanted to say this was exactly what I needed. I have been working on my Vanilla Retail install for Snow Leopart 10.6.4 on my T60p. It had the Intel wireless adapter so I purchased an IBM "Whitelisted" Atheros Wi-Fi adapter off of ebay. After the install I couldn't figure out why my wireless wasn't showing up, even though everything I've read said it should work Out of the Box.

So all I ended up needing was:
1) Found my Device ID (168e 1014) from linux with lspci -nn
2) Added "<string>pci168c,1014</string>" to /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros21.kext/Contents/Info.plist
3) ran sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions and let the kext cache rebuild

After a reboot, it was good to go!

I have been using snow leopard 10.6.4 and decided to go back to 10.5.8 OMG what a difference. I have tried kalyway 10.5.2 but ideneb lite 10.5.8 is spot on. Everything worked straight off I didn't tick azalia audio (will give you a kernel panic after reboot if you install) and no graphics drivers. My graphics look better in leopard than snow leopard also? Everything is 100% except PCMCIA which I unticked. I'll try and post a screen shot of my custom install. Aiport, ethernet and bluetooth all fine. Haven't tried sleep yet though.

My spec is:

Lenovo T61 14" 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo (shows up as 2.19 Core Duo)
Model: 7659
Integrated Graphics Intel 965.
4GB Ram.
Atheros Wireless card was already installed.

Distros - I have tried them all. Kalyway 10.5.2 is good. But ideneb lite 10.5.8 is the business.

I also got Snow Leopard working which was fine using a very easy method with the retail image and downloading and installing myhack - http://osx86.sojugarden.com/installer/

This is my main machine and I also use it for Music Production. I have bought many Macs over the years and this T61 feels faster than the 13" Macbook Pro I had recently. I am on a anti-apple crusade at the mo. Spent thousands and refuse to give them anymore dinero. Hackinosh is the way,
