Good instructions?
Hello,
On campus, everyone has a mac. It isn't envy, I just sort of what to try OS X and its programs, but I am not going to shell out $1k for a macbook just to try it.
I was wondering if this was a good instruction to install osx on my X60 C2D. I currently have Win7 and I would like a duo booting laptop.
I am not good at software stuff. But I don't think it can be that hard.

Re: Good instructions?
The link is for old version of OSX - Leopard (as opposed to Snow Leopard, which is the new sh*t). For trying purposes you can try iDeneb or iPC installation disks. If you want to make a lasting installation of OSX, read this forum. There are plenty of guides and information here.

Re: Good instructions?
Thanks for the reply.
Generally speaking, any of the instructions for any model thinkpad could work, right? I mean I want to shoot for something in the same generation? (I see a lot of T60/61 threads).

Yes, that is correct assumption.Saysana13B wrote:Generally speaking, any of the instructions for any model thinkpad could work, right? I mean I want to shoot for something in the same generation? (I see a lot of T60/61 threads).

Re: Good instructions?
Not exactly. The X60 has an Intel GPU and WiFi Adapter, and the T60's may or may not. The OP will at least want to get an Atheros mPCI WiFi card if he/she wants wireless on OSX. If you find the threads for X60s or X60t those would be the closest to your situation.Silencer wrote: Yes, that is correct assumption.

Re: Good instructions?
There are MANY threads about Snow Leopard and X60(s/t) on this forum.
Here is good start to understand what you are doing.
Here is a SPECIFIC thread about X60 (detailed guides for X60 and 10.6.2 on THIS post)
Here is a guide for X60T (very close from X60s)
Just read all that carefully and this gonna be easier than you think.

Re: Good instructions?
Thanks everyone.
I've searched, but sometimes I just can't get the right words down.
