T60p 10.5.6 or 10.6? 1680x1050

I have a t60p and I've been looking around the forums for the best guides and I am stuck at this point. I have both 10.5.6 and 10.6 but I don't know which to go with. Im have the ati firegl card installed and i have the atheroes wireless chipset. I want to be able to have this display at 1680x1050 with EQ/CI, But at this point I keep seeing I will have to sacrifice with just 1440x1050(Unless I miss read something).
Could someone help me out.

What matters is you video card ! Can you give us more details about your hardware ?

I have a v5252 firegl, I have the core2duo 2.33ghz, and the Athroes wifi card

Im sorry It was a typo....I ment the V5250
