under my program files i have a file called integrated camera. when i click it all i see is uninstall. How do you use the inegrated camera on a n100 300 lenovo?

Then I believe the drivers are not installed. Which OS are you using?

i have vista. I installed it, and it already has it installed so i overwrited it. Its wierd, its as if they didnt connect the camera to the pc

when i go to windows movie maker, and select from vindeo device, it says i dont have one installed or that it cant find it

what \os are you running? Mine is right in the start menu (vista ultimate V200) "integrated camera" click that and select integreated camera again and you should see yourself show up in the box.....if you are in front of the machine.

My sys shows no camera installed, either. Hunting for a solution before calling Tech Support...

Please note that Lenovo N100 Integrated Webcam Original Driver supplied by Sonix, is available, version v5.23. See ya !

I'm having this same issue on Vista. I've downloaded and installed the driver from the link above but still no recognition of the camera!! My model is Y410 44A. I've scoured the net but to no avail.. help!

That's because the link is not for your machine.

The wizard that lets you setup the facial recognition software, there should be help menu somewhere, if not then I'll look into it.

Thank you again Ryengineer. I checked the help menu and all it says is: "You can log in to Windows using Lenovo VeriFace after registering your face image. When Windows starts or locks, an animation indicates that the VeriFace software is active. To log in using VeriFace, look directly into the camera until VeriFace registers your face image and logs you in to Windows." No other instructions are given and it does not say if I can register more than one user or how I can do it.

If I create a second user account in windows vista I imagine I will be able to use VeriFace Recognition for a second person on that second user account. Am I right on that? Further, under windows vista, can the second user account have the same access to the laptop as the first person?

I was also looking at ways to control the integrated camera but I cannot find anything on it in the user manual. I see in this forum that you directed Samantha546 to a Lenovo site for various drivers (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 104#camera). If I download and install the Lenovo web cam software, will that allow me to work with the web cam? As it stands I have no way to access the webcam at all.

Yes, under Windows Vista it should.

I have already downloaded the device driver for the integrated camera, but have no idea how to gain access to the camera. I am using a Lenovo 3000 Y410 Notebook, installed with Windows Vista. Could you advise me on how to access it? Thanks very much..

To use the camera to start a video conference download a third party software like Windows Live Messenger.

Is there no way no access the camera outside of Video Conferencing? Maybe a function similar to iMac's Photobooth?

Unfortunately I have already done this and I receive the same issue as "sammi".

I installed it, and it already has it installed so i overwrited it.

It's a never-ending vicious cycle with no positive end result.

Using Windows Live Messenger, it says I have no camera attached to it. No matter what I do, this lame laptop can not find the so called "built in camera".

Sammi's camera worked.

To use the camera under Windows Vista you need a third party utility like Windows Live Messennger.

Tried to PM Sammi to see how they got it to work because I've done EVERYTHING listed here.

Go to Control panel in Windows and click Classic View then Add Hardware, try manually let Windows find the device, the drivers are located under C:\Drivers\Webcam\Driver.

Just wondering, did the Webcam ever work with lenovo preloaded Windows? You can go back to factory state through lenovo OneKey Recovery as well as long as you haven't formatted the Operating System's hidden partition to see if Webcam works under that.

Also look at the following post on lenovo forum, the drivers are reported to be compatible with Windows Vista on Dell website:

Lenovo 3000 Y410 - Bluetooth and Web Camera.

The Webcam is physically connected through one of the internal USB of your system, there is also a possibility that it's not powering up.

First off, which camera is on my lenovo 3000 n100 0768 a49: "Chicony" or "Light on"?

In my device manager under "imaging devices", my drivers seem to be working (Manufacturer: Sonix driver version 5.7.11.203)

So I followed your instructions and downloaded 63cn09ww from the linked website (I checked and it is indeed the same file for my model machine)

This file has at least 3 different executables and no readme?!

I ran all of them and still get nothing in my scanners and cameras dialogue.

So I clicked "Add Device" "have disk" "browse"
the only .inf that this dialogue recognizes is /DRIVERS/Vista/CAMERA/Chicony/Snp2std.inf
so I try using this file and the dialog refuses to acknowledge it.

You won't, see the following:

Install a third party utility like Windows Live Messenger. The camera works with that under Windows Vista.

You gave me an interesting thought though, download one of the following softwares:

Belarc or PC Wizard and look for the chipset name of your PC-CAM Controller, if it's Sonix's then it will start with "SN9.....", once you find it, go to the following page and download the respective drivers:

Sonix - Downloads. (the webcam is categorized under "Video/Image Controlllers")
