That's not too surprising. Shame it doesn't have a TrackPoint though.

Clearly what's needed is a 'netbook' with the butteryfly keyboard and a TrackPoint. The touchpads and tiny keys are a real problem on most of these 'netbooks.'

Yeah, missing trackpoint is another lost opportunity to offer something special.

An opportunity wasted. Yet another exercise in mediocrity from a company that should be capable of so much more.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, some reasonably good pictures.

I can like the outside (in fact the front goes a long way to looking good), and would possibly begin to live with the keyboard (but please, please, please, drop the arrow keys a row, or do what Apple does and make them half-height, or something), but to add insult to the injury that is lack of trackpoint, the trackpad is pretty small and looks horribly off-center to the keyboard. I don't know if they tried to make it centred over the whole laptop width, or what, but look at this and tell me there isn't something wrong there.

It's not a ThinkPad. Why would you expect a TrackPoint?

It has a centered touchpad! I can't believe they did that when everyone's complaining about the off-center screen on ThinkPads.

(Centered touchpads are bad.)

Seconded. Lenovo won't be sending a ThinkPad to fight this battle anytime soon. (I hope)

Looks fantastic to me, mainly thanks to the very thin display bezel. It has a 10" screen like the MSI Wind, but it's smaller overall thanks to the thin bezel. The dimensions are almost the same as the Acer Aspire One, which only has a 8.9" screen because it has a thick bezel. In fact, think the Ideapad S10 looks a lot better than the X200, again due to the X200's stupid bezel.

Did I mention how much I hate thick bezels? :D

s/expect/hope for/

Because it would make the laptop better.

While not costing any significant amount of money in either research or implementation.

From a distance, this almost looks like a younger brother to the 12" Powerbook G4. And I mean that as a compliment. Maybe it'll grow on me yet.

How about starting a totally new section for Ideapad S* series?

This is totally a new line of Netbook's from Lenovo & it is totally different from rest of Ideapad series.

Well, I definitely agree with that! If I ran the world, ALL notebooks would have a TrackPoint, but, alas, I don't. ;-)
