#1 Post by puma » Fri Dec 02, 2011 1:23 pm

Hey guys, I am looking to get an msata card for my t520 and install the os on it. When I install the card.. will it appear as any other HD would in the setup or is there something i need to load?

Thank you

Ever since installing msata and dropping the OS on it I get random blue screens. Sucks! Wiping it installing OS on my ssd and using msata for storage. Sucks.

Thinkpad t520 windows 7 64 bit.
When I reinstalled the win 7 on the main ssd.. i noticed that the msata was going in and out from being recognized. The last thing I did was open the machine up and remove the black plastic cover from the card which I left in. It was like a place holder or somrething. Possible the card over heated or something?

Yes. I just ended up doing a clean install over again. It was going well for a while, and then suddenly the drive was no longer recognized. Windows froze and when i open Computer C: is missing. Yup. Super unstable, so I am rebuilding the OS on the ssd 2.5 drive. I give up.

I encountered similar problems with my mSata T50 on a T420S.

Occasionally it would BSOD with a POWER STATE error - I think the msata goes missing.

Might be a power management thing.

My plan is probably to go back to just using the SATA drive.
