I currently use two solid state drives on my t420. the intel 310 80gb is just the os. and the hyperx 120gb ssd is for games. i have another 500gb wd black hdd in my ultrabase. i am really interested in buying a p34h to expresscard or pci-e adapter because my nvidia 4200m was severely damaged in an accident. i could take the intel 310 out and just use the pci-e for graphics performance and use the hyperx ssd as os and maybe a game or two, but i am not sure the pci-e adapter is even compatible with my thinkpads msata port. does anyone have experience using the t420's msata port for graphics?
I am thinking of buying a GTX 560 1GB from MSI (fermi N560GTX-M2D1GD5) and connect it either by pe4h via expresscard or by msata. can anyone give me an idea of how much performance my t420 will gain from this, if any? i can't play my games
