I checked the status and tracked through UPS. It has been shipped and the expected deliver date is 06/03.
But the charge has not yet been applied to my card.
Does anyone has similar problem? How long will it take to charge the fees?

Considering ordering a PC-DOS T520 with the FHD 1080p screen from the Barnes & Noble site.
(Note: T420 with 1600x900 HD screen, and X220 w/IPS screen are also available, rather cheap.)

Never though I'd see a 1080p config that cost less than painting my car.

Is there any reason to avoid this config? (i3 is ok by me).

Just ordered a T520 with i5, FHD, HD3000, 2GB of RAM (will upgrade to 6 via third party), webcam, Bluetooth, 6-cell, and Intel 6205 WiFi. Oh, and the Thinkpad 15W sleeve to protect it. Can't wait...

Ship date is 15 Aug, though...!

elrey: Nothing wrong with that config, but I'd strongly suggest switching over to the Intel 1000 WiFi at no cost--the default option has a spotty reputation. I ordered a very basic config outside of processor (i5 mattered to me) and screen, but it's much easier to get the webcam and Bluetooth installed by default than to retrofit--at least with the Bluetooth, it's an easy add-on, but the Webcam retrofit would require cracking open the screen bezel---not so much fun. Just a thought. On the other hand, if you're sure you don't want it/can't have it (security reasons, maybe), then that's easy ;)

Well its time to retire my trusty T60p even though I cant fault it still (screen was replaced 18 months ago and its like a new machine again), almost jumped ship but finally found a modern thinkpad which should meet my current requirements:

T520
Core i7 2720QM
15.6" FHD Screen (1080p)
NVIDIA Quadro NVS4200M Optimus technology (1GB)
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN
Bluetooth 3.0
Integrated Mobile Broadband (Ericsson F5521gw) with 21Mbps D/L
etc...

Looking forwward to a new workhorse, was to dear to go W520 here in aus (massive difference in price to spec both as quad core), only thing I'm nervous about is how massive it will be compared to my other thinkpads, I''m sure it will be fine and weight wise its not that much heavier than the T60p apparently.

Not sure the shipping date yet, hopefully will arrive in the next 2 - 3 weeks!

I ordered my T520 on 1/25/12 and it shipped yesterday on 1/30/12. Far sooner than the estimated shipping date of 2/16/12! Now I'll get a 64GB MyDigitalSSD mSATA SSD to make it even faster.

I took delivery of a T420 (4178-6VU) today, 8GB RAM. Haven't had a chance to play yet, but sure am looking forward to checking it out. I've been on WINXP forever.

Does anyone know the significance of "55++" written on the battery?

Thx.

Ordered a t530 on the 16/07 and arrived yesterday. It was held in customs in Germany for three days (part over the weekend), and then the doofus at Lenovo who actually created the order for the courier didn't type my full postcode so the laptop was held for another day by the courier company until I could get the problem rectified.

FWIW, the computer showed it was still being held in Germany until the status updated to show it was in the UK. There was nothing to show that it'd be released from Germany.

bought this one...just unpacked.
Bought from the shop as per the link.
Happy at the moment :D
small hiccup at purchase. Was hunting for a stellar price quality ratio in the form of a year old T420si with an i3 processor, old keyboard.
Been told it was out of stock, after the dealer received the payment.
got a reasonable offer for this one, now I do not regret it. Faster processor, and it is after all a newer machine, with USB3 and a win8 upgrade dvd option.
Look forward to replace the stock HDD with my SSD Intel though...there is something like a mouse inside, rattling away. either the HDD some fan. I think the HDD.

Well I know this is the shipping thread but I guess this should be here.
I am in the market for a laptop for my mother, so what better than a thinkpad.
I've found this:

Lenovo T410S
260Gb SSD
4Gb Ram
i5-560M
Intel Graphic Card
2 batteries (the guy said they are new)
Charger
Lenovo Mouse and Bag - New
1 year warranty (I guess it is given by the guy, he said he works with lenovos)

350eur, this is the best that I could find in Portugal
Do I need to look for anything special?
Unfortunately I can't go to see the computer in hand, it will be a friend of mine, so I have to aware him of everything.
Here are some photos, it seems to be in pretty good shape
