Hi all, I have a t500 running winsows xp. My broadband card is: Ericsson F3507g Mobile broadband Minicard adapter for WCDMA 2100/1900/850MHz as well as GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz broadband. I would like to replace this card/adapter with one which has the following features:
WCDMA/HSPA+/UMTS 2100/1900/900/850MHz,
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Wimax.

Is there a card available from Ericsson or Lenovo or elsewhere which has the above specs? Or, can my existing card be software-upgraded to support the above specs?

Please help as I am very frustrated by our mobile network operators here in South Africa.

Regards,

Sainty

Be aware that WiMax services operate on a range of bands, so just having a card that says "WiMax" may not give you any operation with what is implemented for WiMax in RSA... I understand that RSA may have adopted the somewhat non-standard 2.6 GHz band for WiMax (http://www.bmi-t.co.za/?q=content/south ... -way-26ghz), but you should check that yourself.

The common bands for WiMax operation (so far) are 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz.

Cheers,
